At CSArch, our commitment to education goes well beyond the buildings we design. From a comprehensive Intern Development Program for intern architects entering the profession, to regular opportunities for college and high school students, we’re proud to provide well-rounded, hands-on experience to young adults exploring a career in the design and construction industry.
We touch many people along the way and each plays an integral role in shaping solutions.Relationships are the first thing we build. Our Intern Development Program (IDP) has a proven track record of moving intern architects through the challenging requirements of professional licensure. Four ideals are central to our program:
• Mentoring Every intern is assigned to a licensed professional who provides direct daily guidance on project work in a collaborative, hands-on approach to training.
• Interactive Forums Monthly forums provide an opportunity to review topics central to completion of the National Architectural Review Board IDP. At CSArch, intern architects play a vital role in shaping the process. In addition, seminars presented by senior staff or consultants feature areas of architectural expertise and expose interns to diverse subjects such as coordination with engineering disciplines and firm management.
• Field Experience Everything that happens in design has tangible results in the field. Job site visits are a crucial portion of our IDP. Through our construction services, CSArch interns have the distinct advantage of regular access to projects sites throughout every stage of construction.
• Community Involvement Fulfilling the required volunteer hours is easily accomplished at CSArch, where a culture of service to community provides numerous opportunities to make an impact in the areas where we live and work.
Our emphasis on educational design inspires us daily. We view learning as a life-long process and enjoy working with students at all stages of their development. High school students work at our office as part of their curriculum, earning valuable on-the-job experience using AutoCAD, visiting construction sites and attending project meetings.
College interns are summer regulars and an important part of our project teams, assisting in every phase of the process, from architectural and interior design through construction management. Students are welcome to contact our human resources department to discuss internship opportunities at CSArch.
