NY-CHPS
(New York Collaborative for High Performance Schools)
In 2006 New York SED, in cooperation with NYSERDA, developed guidelines for sustainable school buildings designed to provide significant cost savings over the life of the facility. Healthy, safe and efficient buildings are the goal. Savings of 10 to 20 times the cost of the initial investment have been identified in several national studies of high-performance schools when compared to schools designed only for code compliance.
