We were among the first to make sustainable design a priority and we still lead the way in implementing forward-thinking solutions. As design professionals and concerned citizens, we are acutely aware that the designs we create and the choices we make impact the environment every day. We have made it part of our mission to embrace sustainable design and responsibly share with our clients and peers what we learn.
Throughout all our practice areas, CSArch is committed to delivering high performance buildings that use less energy, cost less to run and even put money back into facilities budgets through significant reductions in operating expenses. These buildings are healthier for both the inhabitants and the environment and provide a more productive learning and working environment. In fact, our school buildings have even become part of the curriculum, serving as living classrooms to teach students about our responsibility to the earth through the use of alternative energy sources, choice of building materials, and extensive use of natural light, to name just a few design practices.
We believe that sustainable solutions are always possible when you bring a creative, open minded approach to the project. We pursue continuous education in this area and regularly assist our clients in attaining incentive grants through the New York State Energy and Research Development Authority (NYSERDA) and LEED certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). We have LEED accredited professionals on staff and strongly encourage our public school clients to incorporate CHPS (Collaborative for High Performance Schools) design guidelines.
