ATHLETIC BUILDING RENOVATIONS

The Army West Point Athletics Association (AWPAA) hired CSArch for the complete renovation of two existing athletic centers to provide cosmetic, functional, and maintenance upgrades and better support the instituion's athletic program.

Truxtun Athletic Facility

The Truxtun Athletic Building will be renovated to house the Army Wrestling team and Cheerleading team. Renovations will include locker and team rooms, a physical therapy room with a sauna, coaching offices and support space, and a reception area to transform the existing building into a fully-equipped training facility.

Lichtenberg Tennis Center

The Lichtenberg Tennis Center will receive renovations to include a new lobby/reception area and six resurfaced tennis courts and bleacher seating. Support spaces include new men’s and women’s locker rooms with adjacent bathrooms and team rooms, guest locker rooms, public restrooms, and offices for trainers, officials and administrative staff.

Project Scope

Originally constructed in 1987, the 5,800-square-foot Truxtun Athletic Building housed the Army Men’s Lacrosse team for nearly 30 years and will be renovated to house the Army Wrestling team and Cheerleading team. The west side of the building will feature a new athletic training room designed to support and strengthen Army West Point’s wrestling program.

The Lichtenberg Tennis Center requires interior renovation work and space reconfiguration to upgrade the 1999 facility. The design features six resurfaced tennis courts and bleacher seating for spectators, as well as renovations to all team and administrative support spaces.
