KIPP Tech Valley Primary School celebrated the opening of its new classroom addition with a ribbon cutting ceremony on August 7.

“This will be our best year yet,” said Executive Director Stephanie Valle, who went on to describe the exciting completion of the school’s latest construction project, a 9,000 square foot, two-story classroom addition complete with eight new classrooms for their Kindergarten and fourth grade classes.

Designed by CSArch, the addition seamlessly connects to the existing building, which was originally designed by CSArch and constructed in 2005.

“This project marks another milestone in our relationship with KIPP, which spans 15 years,” said Daniel Woodside, President of CSArch. “Our firm is committed to designing spaces that make students proud of their schools and this is another great example of that.”

Joined by students, parents, school leaders, local dignitaries, and project team members, the celebration marked a new beginning for “KIPPsters,” as 100 new kindergarteners were expected to kick off their school year in the new classroom wing the following day.

Emphasizing the need for every child to be given the opportunity to achieve their full potential, Mayor Kathy Sheehan praised the project as a means of showing that support.

“[It] has to do with the physical space, that welcoming space, that place where students see that we mean what we say when we talk about how cherished they are,” said Sheehan.
