CSArch Albany, New York

Albany Office Renovation

This 19th century warehouse on Albany’s “Newspaper Row” was purchased by developers in the mid-1990’s. During that time, CSArch undertook the design of two vacant floors totaling 14,000 SF to accommodate their growing firm. In 2018, CSArch completed another renovation to address the changing nature of the work place. The new space, open and inviting, contrasts the historical nature of the space with a clean, modern palette.

Space was reconfigured to allow natural daylight to penetrate the floor plate and reach all employees. Furniture systems are laid out to support team-based clusters, promoting dialogue and collaboration, and are supported by various meeting spaces from individual to small and large groups with integrated technology. The new space is social, spontaneous and productive with a living space, open kitchen and various formal and informal meeting spaces.

The newly renovated office features powered sit-stand desktops for all employees, modern ergonomic furniture, indirect-direct LED lighting, daylight harvesting and fully-automated lighting controls.
