Advanced Technology Market Leader


Overview

CSArch, an A/E firm with offices in Albany and Newburgh, NY is currently seeking a full-time Advanced Technology Market Leader to join our growing team in the Albany office. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of experience as a Licensed Architect or Engineer, with at least  5 years in the Advanced Technology sector. Strong business development and communication skills are essential as this position will establish new relationships with potential clients in this market.  The successful candidate should possess an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Architecture or Engineering. The Advanced Technology Market Leader is responsible for business development and overseeing work in the expanding Advanced Technology market for the firm.

Core Duties

  • Identify new opportunities in the Advanced Technology market including Life Sciences, Semiconductor, Artificial Intelligence or other related high-tech market locally and regionally
  • Develop new and leverage existing relationships in the Advanced Technology market
  • Possess an understanding of the overall Advanced Technology market and clean manufacturing space with strong relationships in this market
  • Represent the firm at local, regional and national business development functions and trade shows related to the Advanced Technology market as needed to expand the firm’s presence
  • Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Advanced Technology market for the firm. Lend expertise to the in-house design team through development of the design and construction documentation process
  • Develop and coordinate with our outside consultants on project development and execution of Advanced Technology projects
  • Oversee code compliance with applicable codes, including specialized “H” occupancies, standards and guidelines. Lead and mentor project architects and engineers with less experience
  • Develop and coordinate technical specifications. Coordinate with Project Manager, Construction Manager, Client, and/or government agency relative to front end specification documents
  • Support the in-house team with development of corporate contract documentation procedures and standards as they best apply
  • Support the in-house team with construction administration including but not limited to shop drawing/submittal review and coordination, attending project meetings, periodic monitoring of construction sites, interfacing with contractors and clients
  • Provide weekly report on business development activities in the Advanced Technology market to the marketing leader and meet with senior management team, prepare reports as needed
  • Support project management with development of staffing, fee, budget estimating and project scheduling on Advanced Technology projects
  • Support company quality control procedures are being met at all levels
  • Assist with hiring and supervise/mentor technical project staff of various sizes and skill levels to build inhouse capabilities in the Advanced Technology sector

Qualifications

  • Licensure Requirements: Licensed Architect or Engineer

  • Experience: Minimum ten (10) years experience as a licensed architect or engineer with 5 years in the Advanced Technology sector

  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD and other design/presentation software programs; MS Office proficient; use of Adobe products

  • Experience with business development establishing new client relationships

  • Energetic, collaborative outward facing personality

  • Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills

  • Able to travel as needed

  • Able to pass a background check, drug screening, which employment is contingent on

  • Detail oriented; highly organized; self-motivated; ability to exercise independent judgment, multi-task, delegate, plan, set goals, meet critical deadlines, be accurate, work under pressure; conflict resolution/negotiation skills; team building and leadership skills

  • 40+ hours M-F; overtime as necessary to meet deadlines, travel, driving, occasional lifting/carrying up to 40 lbs. Site observations may involve outdoor weather, year-round, moving mechanical equipment, climbing ladders/scaffolding and observing high area construction activities. Noise level is often loud. Requires use of hardhat, construction boots, and possibly other safety equipment as required on a construction site

Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Architecture or Engineering
