CSArch Announces 2022 Principal Promotions


We are proud to announce the promotions of several deserving employees in recognition of their leadership, technical expertise, and continued dedication to the highest quality work at CSArch.

Cheryl LaDuc Buchanan
Promoted to Principal
Cheryl was promoted to Principal in recognition of her commitment to project excellence at CSArch. She joined the firm in 2005 and has developed into a go-to resource for technical detailing and specifications writing. Her engagement throughout all phases of a project, especially during construction administration, has led to success in maintaining long-term client relationships. Cheryl's technical expertise and oversight has contributed to successful projects with Binghamton University, Queensbury UFSD, and the City School District of Albany.

Mark Landon
Promoted to Principal
A talented Project Manager with CSArch since 2007, Mark Landon was promoted to Principal. Mark has been instrumental in managing some of CSArch's most notable higher education projects with clients including University of Albany and Siena College. He is recognized as a trusted mentor to building designers and project architects and is a leader in instilling firm-wide processes for high quality design and project management.

Zachary Malison
Promoted to Principal
A Senior Mechanical Engineer with CSArch since 2010, Zach was promoted to Principal. Zach joined the firm following his graduation from Binghamton University and has developed into the leader of our in-house MEP Engineering department. He has gained the respect of colleagues and clients alike through his leadership, project management, and technical expertise. Zach has played an integral role on successful projects with Hyde Park CSD, Queensbury UFSD, Ballston Spa CSD, and Defreestville Fire Department.

Mark McCarthy
Promoted to Principal
An experienced and talented design leader, Mark McCarthy was promoted to Principal. Mark joined the firm in 2021 and brings a unique perspective to the design of educational facilities for public and private institutions. As an architect from a family of educators, he engages others with his thoughtfulness, creativity, and hands-on approach to project management. Mark applies his expertise to projects with Binghamton City School District, Binghamton University, Newburgh Free Library, and Liberty CSD.

Bill Pennock
Promoted to Managing Principal
Recognized for his strong client relations, leadership qualities, and expertise in the planning, design, and construction of educational facilities, Bill Pennock has been promoted to Managing Principal. Bill joined the firm in 2001 and has played a pivotal role in advancing the firm's business development efforts in the higher education sector. A trusted colleague and mentor among CSArch staff, Bill constantly represents the firm's value for top quality work with successful projects at Binghamton University, Utica College, SUNY New Paltz, SUNY Oneonta, and the City School District of Albany.
