Pearl River School District

CAPITAL PROJECT

Pearl River School District

CAPITAL PROJECT

With a focus on art, music, and science programming, athletics, and health and safety, the $32 million capital project provided much needed renovations and additions to the middle school and high school buildings.

Art Addition

An addition at the high school provided a flexible 3D art classroom to accommodate pottery, sculpting, modeling, and soldering programs.

Science Renovations

Renovations to all high school science classrooms provided new casework, furniture, finishes, and lighting to better support science instruction.

Stair Tower

With only one main stairwell for student use, the district required a solution to alleviate congestion between classes. CSArch designed a glass stair tower addition that connects all three floors and provides access to the interior courtyard.

Library Renovation

To bring the existing library into the 21st century, CSArch provided a new circulation desk, lighting, bookshelves, and furniture. The space encourages collaboration and provides a social space where students can gather.

Music Addition

A music addition at the middle school more than doubled the size of instruction space for chorus, band, and orchestra programs. Acoustic improvements optimize sound quality and minimze noise disruption between classes.

Athletic Improvements

To supplement the existing track and turf field, a new concession building, press box, storage facility, field lighting, and bleachers were constructed, including an increased seating count and enhanced accessibility.

Project Scope

As architect-of-record for the district, CSArch has completed various capital improvement projects at the middle school and high school, including additions and renovations to art, music, and science classrooms, athletic improvements, infrastructure upgrades, and improvements to the nurse's suite, guidance suite, library/media center, and small group instruction rooms.
