2021 CAPITAL PROJECT

In October 2021, voters at Guilderland CSD approved a $21.8 million capital project designed to enhance safety and security, update or replace aging infrastructure across all seven buildings, improve educational technology, and provide outdoor learning opportunities for all students.

Outdoor Learning

An outdoor classroom pavilion at each school building provides additional educational opportunities for outdoor learning. Each pavilion features promethean boards with access to power and Wi-Fi, as well as commercial-grade, outdoor-rated, and weather-resistant furniture selected by our interior design team to withstand prolonged outdoor use.

Multi-Purpose Athletic Field

To further enhance outdoor spaces as part of the project, a new multi-purpose athetic field, running track, and field events were installed to replace the previous grass field and better support athletic and physical education programs.

Project Scope

To enhance health and safety and make learning environments more comfortable for students and faculty, a portion of the scope includes upgrades or replacement of HVAC systems, bathrooms, classroom casework and storage, roofing, lighting, windows, flooring, lockers, and security systems.

Outdoor improvements are meant to bring students outside of the classroom and include the replacement of playground equipment at all five elementary schools, the addition of a new track and turf field, and the construction of an outdoor classroom pavilion at each school building.
