Voters approved a $7.85 million capital project designed to address space concerns, update infrastructure, and enhance safety and security. The upgraded facility will help the district reach desired programming goals to elevate student success.
Science Classroom
The new science classroom supports active learning with flexible furniture to enable classroom rearrangement and support individual or team-based clusters. Window glazing provides a "framed" view of the Adirondack Mountains surrounding the school.
Innovation Center
A new Innovation Center addition created flexible classroom and lab space to better support the district’s STEAM programs.
New Main Office and Secure Vestibule
To improve safety and security, a new main office and secure vestibule addition allow for controlled building access and clear lines of sight from the main office into the entry, bus loop, and parking areas.
New Fitness Center
A third addition off the existing gymnasium created a new fitness center to provide a dedicated space for physical education and athletics programs.
Project Scope
Located in the heart of the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks, Keene CSD serves approximately 160 students in one school building. In May 2019, voters approved a $7.85 million capital project which included the design and construction of three separate building additions. The upgraded facility enhances safety and security and will help the district reach its desired STEAM programming goals to elevate student success.
