The University at Albany engaged CSArch to repair and restore 35,000 square feet of canopies at all four quads, as well as the concrete restoration of the Academic Podium and low-rise dormitories in the center of the campus.
Academic PodiumCompleted over 4 phases, the project involves a structural assessment of canopies, facades, and columns at every building within the Academic Podium, which houses many of the college’s largest degree programs.
Concrete RestorationThe concrete restoration process involves several intensive steps including power washing, removal of PCB sealant and hazardous materials, removal of damaged concrete, patching with repair mortar, and application of several coatings to ensure long-lasting repairs.
Dorm QuadsIn addition to the concrete restoration, the dormitories were also outfitted with new bird devices in the eaves of the buildings, as well as new lighting and signage where required.
