CSArch proudly accepted a Merit Award for our design of the new library/media center at Coxsackie-Athens High School.
At last night’s American Institute of Architects Eastern NY awards ceremony, CSArch proudly accepted a Merit Award for our design of the new library/media center at Coxsackie-Athens High School. Shown above, project team members in attendance included Thomas Kenney, RA, Melissa Renkawitz, and Ashley Sheehan, joined by Superintendent Randy Squier and the firm’s Director of Marketing, Phillip Quindara.
According to the jury:
“The exterior façade of the media center projects a strong and compelling sense of monumentality, reminiscent of Italian rationalist projects from the past. The building’s elegant beauty, broad transparency, and heroic structure offer a welcoming and timeless face for the public domain.
The interior spaces are also very well-conceived in their keen ability to offer an exciting range of experiential spaces that accommodate varying scales of occupation and program. Although deceptively simple, the building is really quite rich and sophisticated in accomplishing its larger design objectives.”
