CSArch Wins "Best Signage" Award for CANstruction Poster

For the 9th year in a row, CSArch is participating in the CANstruction annual exhibit and design competition that benefits the Food Pantries of the Capital District. Held at the New York State Museum, the competition connects local architects, engineers, contractors, and students to imagine and create structures built completely out of canned food items. At the close of the exhibit, every can is donated to help feed families in the Capital Region.

This year's Disney theme inspired CSArch to recreate Dumbo, just in time for the live-action movie remake to open in theaters nationwide. Planning started months ago with multiple fundraisers to help raise money to purchase cans needed to build the structure. On Tuesday March 6, twelve employees from CSArch spent nearly five hours organizing and carefully stacking over 3,500 cans to create Dumbo, which stands over five and a half feet tall. The following evening, CSArch won "Best Signage" at the CANstruction Awards Night. The circus inspired informational poster that accompanies Dumbo was created by CSArch employee Michael Kemner, who works out of the Newburgh office.
