CAPITAL PROJECT

In 2016, voters approved a $39.7 million, multi-phase capital project at Broadalbin-Perth Central School District to address infrastructure needs, modernize classrooms, and enhance safety and security.

High School Athletic Fields

The existing turf football field has been replaced and the track has been resurfaced. New regulation baseball and sofball fields feature home run fences, dugouts and portable bleachers. Vehicle access has been improved with 50 additional parking spaces.

Large Group Instructional Area

A new LGIA space at the High School provides a collegiate style lecture hall for group instruction. The design for large group instructional area includes improved audio/visual technology and an open seating environment.

New High School Student Dropoff

A seperate dropoff and pickup area has been created for students, seperate from the bus loop. 50 new parking spots have been added to increase capacity.

Library Media Center

The new library media center, located adjacent to the lobby, will be centralized to serve the entire elementary school. The design includes colorful, flexible seating and cieling panels to improve acoustics in the space.

Elementary Addition and Lobby

A new secure vestibule improves security at the elementary school. Past the new secure vestibule, an expanded entry lobby features large windows to take advantage of natural light. A new office provides improved administrative space with a open-view of the bus drop off area.

Pre-K Pod

An addition of five new pre-kindergarten classrooms at the Perth campus creates modern, flexible classrooms to enhance active learning for young students at a critical developmental age. In the center of the addition, a common area features write-on wall surfaces, and built-in benches to promote learning outside the classrooms.

Project Scope

The project includes a major reorganization of educational and support spaces at both the Broadalbin and Perth campuses to improve organization and safety. Additional improvements include a renovation of the elementary auditorium, secure vestibule renovations, transportation center improvements, athletic upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.

Upon completion, the project will enhance safety and security, support 21st century learning, upgrade athletic facilities, and improve operational efficiency.
