STOWELL HALL RENOVATIONS

A mid 1960s facility of 56,073 square feet, Stowell Hall needed a complete renovation to meet current laboratory, planning, safety and heath standards.

The building's outdated interior finishes were replaced to include clean, forward-thinking laboratories, promoting interaction between students and faculty.

Project Scope

The original building systems in Stowell Hall required a complete replacement, and upgrades to the labs were required meet current laboratory planning, safety and health standards. Other necessary work included abatement of hazardous materials, replacement of finishes, cabinets, benches and utilities, new lighting and ADA upgrades.

Corridors on all floors received new ceiling systems and lighting, and walls were resurfaced to alleviate the repetitive nature of the original glazed block walls, providing visual reflief down the corridor.  The renovated science building now provides students with a health and stimulating environment, and strengthens Potdam's ability to positively impact students and attract prospective students.
